I am so excited to announce that Journey of the Lens is currently in the process of making some very big, very exciting changes. And while I can’t give away too many secrets just yet, I can say that it is going to be SO MUCH FUN to dive into this avenue of photography. I’ve always wanted to get more involved in this particular style of shooting and now I’m finally making it happen. So ladies and gentlemen, stay tuned for the Journey of the Lens: Bridal Couture debut! Launch date, Summer 2009!
Last weekend I had the privilege of shooting Cara & Jeff’s highly anticipated, long awaited engagement! They were so fun and easy to shoot & you couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful couple or more gorgeous setting! Congratulations on your engagement, you guys, and all the best as you move closer to starting your Journey together!

Families, Kids
Last weekend Ryan & I flew up to San Francisco to do a photo shoot for The Devers family. On April 24th, 2009 we welcomed Greyson Brian into the world. Having been there for the birth, it was amazing to see how much He’d grown in just a few weeks! I know I may be slightly biased because it’s family, but I really think this is one of the most beautiful families you’ll ever see. And since I am the proudest auntie of these three amazingly gorgeous kids I might get a little carried away in posting so many pictures. Thank you, Devers, for letting us share in the Journey with you. We love you!

More from our Journey to the Great North. I was blown away at just how spectacularly gorgeous Canada was. Everywhere you go there’s just so much natural beauty. It was a travel photographer’s paradise. And there’s something so freeing about being in the great outdoors, shooting in the wind and the beauty of natural light. Then spending time on Victoria Island I felt like I was transported back to Europe again; it was interesting how much that town reminded me of a minature Dublin. I would really reccomend a lovely weekend getaway to this darling little Canadian harbor town! Thank you for sharing in our Journey today.

Ryan and I had such a wonderful time in Seattle & Victoria, B.C. Since it was my first time to both cities I really enjoyed playing tourist and capturing a lot of the characteristics that make both of those places so unique. I love finding charm in the midst of a city’s everyday life. To be continued…

My latest kick is a form of photography often referred to as Alphabet Art. The goal is to photograph random objects that reflect a specific letter of the alphabet. For Ryan’s birthday last week I decided to make him one with our last name. If you look closely you’ll see the letters DENTT spelled out in the photo. And while I can’t take credit for the original idea, I can say that it was way more of a challenge than I thought it would be to find & photograph letters in everyday objects. My goal now is to shoot the entire alphabet, all in the form of anything but the actual printed letter itself. You should try it. It’s definitely harder than you might think!

Welcome to the world, my sweet nephew Greyson Brian Devers. Thank you for participating in your first (of many!) photo shoots. I love you, sweet boy. Happy first day of life.

One of my most favourite things to shoot ever. Could you find a more gorgeous looking pregnant woman or two any more adorable kids? Thanks to my sweet sister-in-law for sharing her beautiful (and ever-growing!) belly and family with the world.

Spending most of our winters in Utah, there are often days too gorgeous to not capture with the camera. There’s something so serene and peaceful about winter. It’s interesting how nature’s darkest and sleepiest time still manages to exude so much beauty. Such is the beauty of God’s promises even in the midst of the bleakest moments. Be well in your Journey today, in whatever place it may find you. Good or bad. Take a moment to acknowledge the beauty around you.
