As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Journey of the Lens is going to be taking part in a very exciting event hosted by Posh Paperie at THE most fabulous wine bar in town, Wine Steals Liberty Station. The evening will feature the release of Posh’s 2009 Christmas Card Line, as well as an assortment of custom handmade stationary, invitations, gift tags, greeting cards, personal monogram & more! If you haven’t yet seen their AMAZING work, check out their website! In addition to Journey of the Lens, other top-of-the-industry contributors to the evening will include the lovely girls of Carter & Cook Event Co. & also the delicacies of renowned pastry chef Melody Brandon of Sweet & Saucy.

The September 30th event will be from 7pm~10pm, held in the private VIP room of the wine bar. RSVP to Posh is requested. Special packages & deals from several of the vendors will be featured that night only, so start thinking ahead for those holiday gifts! And for one night only, Journey of the Lens will be offering a $50 discount off any holiday card photo shoot! Don’t miss out! If you would like more info about the event or have any other questions please ask! We look forward to seeing you there!

Ps. We’d like to remind our guests that this event is hosted at wine bar, which means ages 21 & up only. Unfortunately that means no children. Thank you for your understanding!

The Posh Girls

09/09/09 | Commercial

If you have not yet met the amazingly talented girls of Posh Paperie then please allow me to introduce them to you. I recently had the chance to design a photo shoot for these lovely girls & it was so much fun to see that concept from start to finish. Not to mention I love photo shoots were you just end up laughing the whole time! Creating a sort of “downtown-sidewalk-office space”, I really wanted to capture the personality, the creativity and just the joy of these amazingly talented ladies & what they do so extremely well.

Specializing in all forms of handmade paper goods, they are currently THE industry leader for everything from custom invitations, announcements, bridal suites, custom logo & monogram design, to all forms of stylized correspondence. Even major publications such as The Knot & Ceremony Magazine are raving about these girls! Everything they do is a custom creation. If you can dream it, they can create it. I hope you enjoy a little look at the fun, style & creativity we captured that day & be sure to check out their phenomenal work!

Bellies & Butterflies

06/30/09 | Babies & Bellies
A few days ago I had the privilege of shooting my friend Jenny’s 38 weeks pregnant belly! And I have to say, this just might be my most favourite belly shoot to date. There was something so peaceful and beautiful that I absolutely LOVED about being able to shoot in the baby’s butterfly-themed nursery! Those thoughts and expressions captured ; you can almost read the ponderings in her face it’s so beatuiful. Congratulations, Jenny & Brandon, on the any-day-now arrival of baby Madelyn!

The Devers

05/22/09 | Families, Kids

Last weekend Ryan & I flew up to San Francisco to do a photo shoot for The Devers family. On April 24th, 2009 we welcomed Greyson Brian into the world. Having been there for the birth, it was amazing to see how much He’d grown in just a few weeks! I know I may be slightly biased because it’s family, but I really think this is one of the most beautiful families you’ll ever see. And since I am the proudest auntie of these three amazingly gorgeous kids I might get a little carried away in posting so many pictures. Thank you, Devers, for letting us share in the Journey with you. We love you!

Oh Canada!

05/13/09 | Travel

More from our Journey to the Great North. I was blown away at just how spectacularly gorgeous Canada was. Everywhere you go there’s just so much natural beauty. It was a travel photographer’s paradise. And there’s something so freeing about being in the great outdoors, shooting in the wind and the beauty of natural light. Then spending time on Victoria Island I felt like I was transported back to Europe again; it was interesting how much that town reminded me of a minature Dublin. I would really reccomend a lovely weekend getaway to this darling little Canadian harbor town! Thank you for sharing in our Journey today.

Pike Place Market

05/12/09 | Travel

Ryan and I had such a wonderful time in Seattle & Victoria, B.C. Since it was my first time to both cities I really enjoyed playing tourist and capturing a lot of the characteristics that make both of those places so unique. I love finding charm in the midst of a city’s everyday life. To be continued…

    Kristin Murdock:

    I’m going this summer! I can’t wait!

What’s in a name?

05/07/09 | Just for Fun

My latest kick is a form of photography often referred to as Alphabet Art. The goal is to photograph random objects that reflect a specific letter of the alphabet. For Ryan’s birthday last week I decided to make him one with our last name. If you look closely you’ll see the letters DENTT spelled out in the photo. And while I can’t take credit for the original idea, I can say that it was way more of a challenge than I thought it would be to find & photograph letters in everyday objects. My goal now is to shoot the entire alphabet, all in the form of anything but the actual printed letter itself. You should try it. It’s definitely harder than you might think!

DenttSign

    Kristin Murdock:

I love this! It’s so unique and charming!! And of course, anything with the word “dentt” is something ryan would love, right? Fun present!
